It was kind of funny, but his transformation wasn't over the top enough to be a joke on itself. The fact that he already looked unlike Mario to begin with toned down the transformation as well.
The music aside, I think there was little emotion; nor grieve, nor celebration... There also were little facts. There were ads, though. Awkward inappropriate ads.
So... I hope the effort was genuine. A six out of respect.
It really was out of respect.
Am I missing something?
I felt like the sprites came over too 'static' during the fight. Preventing that is the whole art of spriting. I mean: f.i. the black guy stands still for 3 seconds in the fight...
The bad English makes me start to think it is a parody of a parody... And it's pretty short.
The special effect sprites are used aptly; the sound effects too.
im sorry. are you serious?...
You can definitely see a lot of effort and joy was put in this. There are good special effects and some awesome moves in there. On the other hand, especially in the beginning, a lot of movements are unnatural and/or slow. I think movements are the primary focus of a stick fight, so no 10.
Lovely presentation, though. Especially how the music is used.
Short 'n sweet
Cons: short; no real background; ending goes a bit abrupt to the start again. Pros: everything else; animation; sound; choreography; special effects.
You have to like stick characters, though.
Missing the charm of all different styles. First scene was a bit dull and long to have as a starter. Some clever jokes (and many less clever ;D ) made me laugh out loud. Good animation, but not flawless. Even though it's been written 'solo', it has a nice diversity of shorts. Also a plus for the voice acting.
Animation good, voice acting bad
Fight was cool. Jokes were OK. Lack of lip sync and sub-par voice acting. Could have used a little echo on the voice to suggest thoughts.
Combo display is not a fight; it's a massacre
Beginning is epic. In the first part I found it not very clear that the green guy had momentum forward when he went off-screen and the piercing stab was unconvincing. Voices in the last part were kind of lame... but funny. Final attack shout was adequate, though.
Rest is just fluent surprising good old stick mayhem. Very Nice.
By the way the third part reminds me of something I saw on flipnote...
Wrong place to post practice material
Find a site for beginners for some feedback. (Can't help you here.) No offense, but you have lots of room for improvement.
Here's some constructive feedback. (Although this isn't the place to get it.)
Think of movements that go from slow to fast or from fast to slow. Think of movements that change direction. You don't have to make the movements really big, if you get that right. See what creates the right 'sense of speed' in the right situation. Get better sprites. (This is all Jump ultimate-stars. Frieza is fading.) Square beam ending REALLY stands out.
Animation wasn't really good. (Reversed hand scratches head.) Music is selected well, I think. Whole thing permeates a sick sense of humour. (Can you kill someone like that?) That is good ^^
Random porn was indeed unnecessary... but we get the point.
